Thoughts on Poetry

“Hypnosis” As Poetry

‘If you have an appreciation of the wonder and magic of poetry, then it will probably not surprise you to realize that poetry and poetic language patterns function in an inherently hypnotic way.

The language causes ideas to take a back seat to emotions, moods, states and experiences. The experience becomes central. Poetry evokes us to do more right-brain thinking than left. Thus, the content of what they say (tress clapping their hands in joy) doesn’t have as much importance as the manner of how they say it.

Poetry calls us to deep emotions and therefore enables us to do the emotional work of grief, anger, anxiety, joy, calm, excitement, etc. This kind of hypnotic literature can change a person. It provides one with an opportunity for catharsis, for cleansing, and for renewal of vision.’

King Solomon (Channeled by Doreen Virtue Ph.D.)

“Poetry is the name of life. Poetry is artistry in motion. For it is not the accumulation of knowledge to which we’re aspiring, but the ability to live life in a grander, more fluid, and more aristocratic fashion.

To take charge through godliness of your inner demons and squeeze out all excess so that you may truly reign with princely power over your domain. Get control of your faculties. Handle addictions and patterns directly, and be free -free to rule, free to live, and free to express your inward callings in boundless ways.”
